Abstract
7O∆R is a site-specific, four-part performance work that stages divination as a contemporary mode of sense-making under conditions of technological opacity, sensory overload, and ecological noise. Set across the outdoor perimeter and subterranean interiors of the MIHL, the piece unfolds as a sequence of autonomous environments—Alén/Caomancia, Fenda/Alveromancia, Miraxe/Xenomancia, and Leteo/Thumomancia—each defined by a distinct perceptual “phase” (serotonergic intensification, apophenic crystallization, entropic peak, dissociative descent). The work combines ritual choreography and masked figures from Humane Methods with airborne units tethered to performers, analog whistles and sirens, cybernetic sonic sculptures (Sereas/Colmeas/Pulsars), a field of pixel-addressable LED towers, octophonic spatial audio, and a circular-screen audiovisual system driven by real-time mappings and cue-based control. Rather than building a linear narrative, 7O∆R engineers situations where meaning is continuously proposed and withdrawn: atmospheric motion becomes drone; machinic resonance accumulates into an acoustic ecology; images and sound saturate perception until coherence collapses; and the final scene returns as “human residue”—voice, membrane percussion, and biophysical control, only to dissolve into forgetting. By treating noise as the substrate of perception and prophecy, 7O∆R asks how audiences read patterns, messages, and intentions from systems that do not explain themselves, and how contemporary ritual emerges at the interface of bodies, instruments, infrastructures, and environments that resound beyond human control.
