    Abstract

The article discusses the work-family interface in terms of culture. As cultural norms influence the perspectives of individuals on work, family and the relationships between them, it is recommended that corporations take note of the predictable impacts which their cultural milieu can be expected to have on such issues. A set of cultural dimensions is listed and analyzed in order to illustrate the positive and negative potential of the work-family interface. Given the significant variations found between national cultures, it is said that international business enterprises should tailor work-family programs to local circumstances.
