    Abstract

Step into the mystical realm of the palm reader’s odyssey—a voyage through the rhythmic tapestry of poetry, the nuanced layers of prose, and the flowing essence of water. This novella is a visually rich experience, adorned with nearly 100 authentic visuals that serve to deepen and illuminate the reader’s journey. Immerse yourself in a confluence of sight and insight, where each page turns like a river stone to reveal the hidden paths of personal discovery.

The Palm Reader is a collection of mini-stories, told in combination with little poems and pictures. Each part can be read on its own, like a one-act play. The narrator—the palm reader—is a witness, and sometimes a participant or main character in individual scenes. A juxtaposition of different, and sometimes parallel narratives, each frame unfolds behind different walls of a theatre. Nevertheless, the stories, running like different lines on a palm, supplement and integrate into each other in a certain way. These tales, like water drops in an ocean, gather and reflect a bigger universe.

Proverse Hong Kong recognised The Palm Reader as a Semi-finalist in the International Proverse Prize 2020 (Fiction).
