Due to the trendy emphasis on the slimmer body in which not only women or adults are suffering with different weight-related sickness, our young Chinese children in this generation is also facing a huge challenge in their weight and appearance concern. In last decades, clinical eating disorders have been documented in Hong Kong and commercial body sliming products are very common in the Chinese society. Little is known in the literature if the western lifestyle (physical inactivity and diet) has already influenced the Chinese children regarding the psychological and sociological perspectives. This paper intended to examine the associations between Chinese children’s body rating, actual fatness, gender and age impact, and the cultural issue regarding the weight and body weight issue.
