Abstract

This paper concerns some properties of the steady and unsteady flows of a Bingham fluid in a cylindrical pipe (critical value of the plasticity threshold, conditions for which, in the unsteady case, the steady state is reached in a finite time); in the last part of the paper the numerical analysis of the problem is discussed, and some properties of the unsteady flow are checked.
