Abstract

A comparative study was made on the microscopic characteristics of setae in Cordyceps sinensis and its seven counterfeits. The appearance of polypide seta and the different features of polypide setae between genuine and counterfeits could be compiled as a useful index in identification of Cordyceps sinensis from its forged products. The method was proven to be quick, handy, simple and convenient.
