Abstract
Two N,N-disubstituted amide derivatives of 4,10-diaza-12-crown-4 show pronounced selectivity for Ca2+ over Ia cations: complexation has been monitored by 13C NMR, homogeneous stability constants and enthalpies of complexation determined by titration calorimetry and the structure of the ligand 2 confirmed by X-ray crystallography.
