Abstract

This paper reports the production of a learning VCD developed to help the students majoring in Chinese medicine who take the course English for Academic Purposes - Chinese Medicine (EAPCMED) to learn the communication skills, primarily those used in Chinese medical interviews. A questionnaire survey was conducted to elicit students’ feedback on various aspects of the VCD. The findings suggest that the majority of the students believe that the VCD has provided a useful linguistic model of medical interviews in the Chinese medicine context.
