Abstract

The reaction of ReOCl3(PPh3)2 with cyclam gives a macrocyclic monooxorhenium(V) complex, [ReO(cyclam)(OH2)]Cl3 (1). This exist as a monocation in aqueous solution in which the cyclam ligand is doubly deprotonated [ReO(C10H22N4(OH2)]+ (2), the structure of which has been defined with the aid of NMR, visible spectrophotometric and FAB mass spectrometric methods.
