Abstract
Bystander intervention has emerged as a prospective strategy for addressing online incivility; nonetheless, lacking comprehensive qualitative inquiries regarding the firsthand encounters of bystanders. This study delved into the possibility to apply the Bystander Intervention Model to incivility intervention. Also, it explored how and why users' responses to online incivility were influenced by types of participants (bystander vs. victim) and in-group/out-group identity. Findings enhance comprehension of online intervention dynamics and factors influencing responses to incivility.
