Abstract

This is a short review of recent research papers that focus on the synthesis, reactivity and properties of coordination compounds of osmium. The osmium complexes are classified in accordance with their metal oxidation state ranging from zero to eight. The ligands embrace a variety of groups including nitrido, imido, oxo, hydride or hydrogen, oligopyridine, carbonyl and various nitrogen-, phosphorus-, sulfur- or oxygen-donors.
