Abstract
The propagation of coherent and partially coherent light pulses through a one-dimensional photonic crystal [Formula presented] is investigated. The dependence of the evolution of the pulses inside the [Formula presented] on incident angles and the effect of the coherence of the pulses on the propagation properties are discussed. The evolution of a pulse inside the [Formula presented] is affected by the coherence of the pulse. As the coherence decreases, superluminal proprogation changes to subluminal propagation.
