Abstract

Musicus Society brings renowned cellist Trey Lee and a host of fantastic international musicians together for this latest installment of the Jockey Club Musicus Heritage Stories concert series. Music Director and Principal Conductor Christopher Warren-Green and members of the London Chamber Orchestra collaborate with Musicus young artists, performing works from the Baroque period to the 20th century, and inviting audiences on a journey to appreciate the role that trees play in helping us make music.

This concert series takes inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of Tai Kwun, from its trees, the echo of which redounds through the wood of the beautiful instruments the musicians play, which have stood the test of time and endured endless adversity. For this series, we have commissioned Chinese calligraphy artist and painter Chui Pui-chee to create a new painting inspired by this very theme, which showcases his interpretation of classical ink art and which will be displayed exclusively at our concerts.
