Abstract

Decreasing peak plantar pressure (PPP) is an essential intervention for reducing foot discomfort as well as reducing foot ulcers risks in diabetic patients. Advanced technologies of 3D scanning and 3D printing havepaved the wayforcreating personalized insoles with optimized fit to the precise contours and dimensions of anindividual's foot. This study has developed a customtotal contact insole (TCI) that can achieve PPP reduction efficiently during both standing and walking through 3D printing with thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and honeycomb infill structure of the insole.
