Abstract

This paper exposes the issues of adopting the generative AI ChatGPT in learning among university students in Hong Kong. The discussion is based on a funded qualitative research project in which 20 undergraduate students from 6 different universities in Hong Kong were interviewed individually. A prominent theme emerged from the data is the issue of technological dependency. The paper looks into how the issue emerges and its ethical implications.
