On determining the optical gap associated with an amorphous semiconductor: A generalization of the Tauc model

Abstract

We propose a generalization of the Tauc model which follows directly from some recent theoretical developments. The implications of this model, with regards to the determination of the optical gap associated with an amorphous semiconductor, are then discussed.
