Abstract
New Horizons: Ways of Seeing Hong Kong Art in the 80s and 90s (2019–2022) examines pivotal developments in contemporary Hong Kong art and its Art history during the transformative 80s and 90s. It highlights innovative practices in installation art, new media, and photography, driven by young artists experimenting with hybrid forms and responding to evolving socio-political realities. Through the perspectives of participating artists and curators, the study contextualizes these shifts within the broader evolution of Hong Kong's art history.
