Abstract
The article offers the author's opinion on American Jesuit priest and theologian John Courtney Murray's work on the relationship between grace and nature. It examines Murray's intellectual development in three phases namely his early work in developing his characteristic position on nature and grace, his engagement with atheism and secularism and his role in the debates on religious freedom.
