Abstract

This paper explores the behavioral decision-making process of enterprise information technology (IT) projects based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Multiple criteria are formulated through a consultation with senior management and the assessment of the enterprise's operations and competitive environment. The criteria are compared in pairs with respect to the goal of choosing the most appropriate project, and the project alternatives are evaluated in pairs with respect to each of the criteria. A competitive project is identified, because the composite weights resulting from intuitive judgments indicate the relative compatibility of different alternatives with the multiple criteria. The behavior of decision makers throughout the evaluation and decision-making process influences IT project selection.
