Abstract

The MEgastudy of Lexical Decision (MELD) project is a series of megastudies that examine Chinese word recognition using the lexical decision task. Participants were asked to determine whether each stimulus they encountered was a real Chinese word or not. To date, the project has produced three openly accessible datasets. This article elaborates on the procedure in constructing the datasets, the information they contain, as well as how the datasets can be used to advance the understanding in Chinese word recognition, citing specific examples from previous applications.
