Abstract
This paper addresses the speed problem in a human face image retrieval system from a large database. A novel method based on the wavelet transform and principal component analysis (PCA) is developed and presented. The computational load of the proposed method is greatly reduced compared with the original PCA based method. Moreover, the accuracy of the proposed method is improved.
