[email protected] (Concept Display) reinterprets the community-driven, site-specific ceramic art project [email protected], which brings heritage and innovation together at Hong Kong’s last complete dragon kiln in Tuen Mun. The original project, led by artist Ray Chan See-kwong, engaged over 100 participants who explored the kiln’s history and shared personal narratives through workshops and guided tours. These collective memories were transformed into more than 300 unique ceramic works, created through a combination of traditional wood-firing techniques and 3D clay printing.
The resulting works have been installed as a permanent site-specific installation at Hin Fat Estate and are further documented in a digital archive (@DragonKiln.Tales). The project highlights cultural sustainability and creative collaboration, bridging past and present through the integration of craft and technology.
This concept display translates the original site-specific installation into a conventional exhibition setting, extending its reach to broader audiences. It also serves as an educational platform, sharing insights into how traditional wood-firing processes can be meaningfully integrated with digital tools in contemporary community-based ceramic practices.
