Abstract

This presentation showcases a successful industry-university partnership that exemplifies future-ready global business education, emphasizing interdisciplinary collaboration and real-world learning. Led by Ms. Anna Lai-yin Qin, former Chief Design/Experience Officer of Aereve and currently Assistant Dean at Hong Kong Baptist University's School of Creative Arts, the project focuses on Aereve's E2KYC initiative—a FinTech project enhancing user experience in financial services through an anti-money laundering product. Developed with undergraduate students from diverse disciplines (Mathematics, Engineering, and Design), E2KYC exemplifies user-centered design and entrepreneurial branding, achieved through a Design Thinking approach. This case study, integrated into a Hong Kong Baptist University General Education course on Creative Entrepreneurship, highlights the value of industry-based learning in cultivating entrepreneurial spirit and preparing students for the global marketplace. The presentation will analyze the project's pedagogical approach, including its iterative design process and user feedback mechanisms, showcasing the transferable skills and knowledge gained through interdisciplinary collaboration. It will explore the project's outcomes, lessons learned, and offer practical insights for educators seeking to integrate industry partnerships and design thinking into experiential learning strategies
for a sustainable and future-ready workforce. The project's alignment with sustainability principles will also be discussed.
