Abstract

Pioneering Technology and Marketing Strategies for the Preservation of Hong Kong's Traditional Small Businesses, our team will continue to explore a future communal practice of community conservation. Building on our previous successes, supported by the Project Grant from the Hong Kong Arts Development Council and the Design Trust Seed Grant, the program encompasses a physical exhibition, digital archiving available at www.fore-seen.com, virtual 3D modeling, participatory commercial activities, and workshops. The program aspires to document local traditional small businesses using advanced technology and re-create the shops' point cloud records in a manner reminiscent of property pre-sale. The participatory commercial activities allow the public to assign material value to local traditional small businesses based on the dynamics of the free market economy and explore possibilities beyond conventional forms of consumption.

In this proposal, we aim to expand our business beyond Hong Kong by continuing to operate as a property agency. Our focus will be on delving deep into the Indonesian community to examine how city development is influenced by the complexity of socio-economic policies, impacting social and residential well-being. During the exhibition, we will have a virtual property guide to introduce the project to the local community. Simultaneously, we will conduct a series of research and demonstrations to assess the potential for extending the project into Southeast Asia and addressing the rapid urban development in these cities.

For the updated exhibition set-up, I will mainly demonstrate the project's progress, process, and theoretical ideas in sketches, maps and graphs format.
