Abstract
This research explores how social (i.e., age, gender, health status, education and income), cognitive (i.e., efficacy and outcome expectancy), and relational (i.e., social capital, social support, and health opinion leadership) factors affect older Chinese adults’ use of social media for health information seeking, scanning, and sharing, and the impact of these behaviors on health decision-making. Surveying 499 older adults, findings highlighted the multifaceted nature of online health information behaviors among older adults.
