    Abstract

In order to enhance the quality of STP and to align the supervision with the intended learning outcomes, the Department of Education Studies at the Hong Kong Baptist University has developed an in-house interactive video database with an online discussion forum that enables students of teacher education programmes to share their teaching practices and build a learning community on a digital platform. One of the advantages of using video to enhance teaching practices is that students can learn by sharing their teaching experiences with each other. The video database allows students to upload video clips of teaching episodes for self-reflection and peer feedback. These video clips, upon self-reflection and peer feedback, then turn into meaningful learning objects for the students. Initial findings suggest that the video database can provide a protected platform for students and help build a virtual learning community to enhance their STP.
