Abstract
Challenges related to academic integrity and responsible online behaviour become more prevalent with the advent of
generative AI. This initiative aims to foster digital citizenship among students by using augmented reality (AR) to create
engaging learning experiences that address challenges related to academic integrity and responsible online behaviour. This
scenario-based learning approach aligns with the Digital Citizenship Framework, helping students understand the
responsibilities of their digital actions. Quantitative and qualitative data on student engagement and improvements in decisionmaking skills will be shared. The implications of integrating technology in higher education and the importance of promoting
a culture of digital citizenship in academic settings will be discussed. Educators and stakeholders are invited to explore the
adoption of similar approaches for digital citizenship education.
