Abstract

With the explosion of information made available to us via various sources (e.g., library, web sites, blogs, etc.) in this information age, people possessing good information technology (IT) skill oriented training still face increasing challenges in finding, evaluating, and using information effectively to solve their problems at hand or make informed decisions. Being information literate (IL) becomes an essential skill for lifelong learning in response to the ever-changing IT landscape. This paper details how the idea of integrating IT and IL motivates a major revamp of a university IT course and reports the student evaluation and the implementation experience.
