Abstract

A comparative study of the degree of phase synchrony in EEG signals between musicians and nonmusicians while they were attentively listening to different musical pieces was made. Musician's brains showed significantly high phase synchrony in the γ band as compared with nonmusicians' brains. Strangely, this significant increase of synchrony was found only in the γ band.
