Empowering Patients Through Digital Tai Chi: A Framework for Home-Based Rehabilitation and Chronic Disease Management

Abstract

In the years following COVID-19, digital technology has quickly become a major part of how people exercise at home and look after their health. At the same time, Tai Chi has attracted growing interest because it offers many styles that suit different needs. For example, Chen style mixes slow movements with quick, powerful bursts. Yang style and the simplified 24-form are slower, softer, and very suitable for beginners. Wu style uses compact, upright postures and is known for close-range practice. Wu-Hao style focuses on calm, slow, mindful movements that help build internal energy, or qi. Sun style is light, flexible, and easy to apply in real life. Together, these styles create a rich and meaningful approach to improving balance, strength, and overall wellness. This literature review looks at how digital technology and Tai Chi—along with other mind-body exercises—can work together to support a better quality of life.
