Abstract

The photoluminescence of two ADN derivatives, TBADN and MADN, were investigated. Both exhibited excellent efficient emission with short Stoke shift between excitation and emission. Low temperature photoluminescence revealed they have different vibronic levels leading to their different emission characteristics. This difference in vibronic property has in fact shifted their luminescence peaks significant enough that their CIE colour coordinates move deep blue and therefore have potential for deep blue OLED application.
