Abstract
"The scientific community specializing in this field has spent years analyzing data collected over recent decades regarding the movement of the Earth’s mantle and crust in relation to our planet's core. They observe, not without concern, signs and evidence indicating 'atypical' movements, as if these layers of the Earth were rotating in opposite directions. True or not, the mere idea that something of this magnitude and mass could display such movements seems fascinating." This is how Colombian composer Leonardo Idrobo (Santiago de Cali, 1977) introduces his latest work. And we find it equally fascinating to present six world premieres in the same program, featuring creators including Idrobo, multidisciplinary Korean artist Jiwon Seo (Korea, 1993), Chilean Rubén Soto Kemp (Santiago de Chile, 1976), Colombian Camilo Méndez (Bogotá, 1981), Mallorcan Mateu Malondra (Palma de Mallorca, 1977), and Danish Christian Winther Christensen (Zealand, 1977). A true seismic shift in music. These works, performed by an ensemble under the direction of Francesc Prat, feature Danish soprano Clara Stengaard Hansen as soloist.
