Abstract

Ding Lab is a multidisciplinary art-tech immersive installation and experiential project that reimagines Hong Kong’s iconic trams as a living, futuristic cyborg entity called Tram0. Created by artist duo Foreseen Agency (Wong WingShan, Pat and Kachi Chan), it employs an anthropological, field research-driven approach. The artists established a fictional R&D department (“Ding Lab”) at the Hong Kong Tramways depot in 2024, engaging directly with workers (sifus) through site visits to understand tram construction processes, community structures, and operational philosophies.
