Abstract

This project involved over 250 students and 70 alumni, faculty, and staff collectively in developing the first digital heritage archive portal among communication schools in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific with two main goals: to showcase HKBU School of Communication's rich education history and cultural heritage and help current communication students at HKBU to understand and attain the graduate attributes in HKBU's whole person education. Using an inside-out approach with oral history, students developed and published the stories shared by communication alumni, faculty, and staff via the project portal and Facebook page over three academic years. In the co-creation process, students learnt about how the school motto, "Truth is Virtue," and HKBU's whole person education helped them shape and build a strong profession in the industry and for contribution to society. This project also reconnected and engaged key stakeholders of the School over the past 50 years and formed a stronger alumni network to nurture communication students with essential HKBU graduate attributes.
