Density 2036

The esteemed Prof. Claire Chase, a world-renowned flautist, and audiovisual artist Taurin Barrera, present Density 2036 at HKBU’s White Box Experimental Space. Density 2036 is an ambitious and far-reaching project that over 2 decades aims to create a new body of flute repertory leading up to the 100th anniversary of composer Edgard Varese’s seminal 1936 flute solo, Density 21.5. In this performance, Prof Chase performs four different sets that reimagine solo flute repertoire. The sets include works by a diverse range of composers such as Marcos Balter, Susie Ibarra, Felipe Lara, Liza Lim, Annea Lockwood, Pauline Oliveros, and Terry Riley.
