Abstract

This is a work-in-progress theory paper. We theorize how ethical organizations come into being and persist drawing on the Four Flows Model. Informed by the literature of organizational communication, ethical leadership, and business ethics, we develop propositions that highlight the role of ethical leadership in the four communication flows that constitute ethical organizations. We also identify important outcomes (organizational reputation and climate) associated with the four flows.
