Abstract

After the detailed analysis presented in the 12 individual country chapters, the purpose of this concluding chapter will be to assess what we have learned already, and to draw out any further lessons that can be gleaned. Thus, this chapter will first summarize the contributions of the previous chapters. We will then discuss the broader, more general lessons to be learned from the material presented. Finally, we will present some concluding thoughts on the future of Europe’s regions.
