Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To study the chemical constituents of Lagerstroemia balansae Koehne. METHODS: The crude herb of the stems of L. balansae was extracted with 95% EtOH and isolated by repeated chromatographic methods. The structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated by physicochemical and spectral analysis. RESULTS: Seven compounds were yielded and identified as: ficuscarpanoside A(I), trans-ferulic acid octacosyl ester (II), lyoniside (III), gomisin N (IV), n-triacontanol (V), β-sitosterol (VI) and daucosterol (VII). CONCLUSION: All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time, and compound (I-V) were obtained from the genus Lagerstroemia for the first time. On the basis of 2D-NMR spectra the 1H and 13C-NMR signals of I, the 1H-NMR signals of III in DMSO-d6 were assigned totally and the uncorrected assignment of 13C-NMR signals of III in the literature were revised.
