A method for analysis of online discussion forum in moodle

    Abstract

    The learners' interaction and contents in online discussion forum could also be as important elements to evaluate the learning. The paper proposes a framework of concept map derived from forum (CMF) to analyze online discussion forum in Moodle. The framework analyzes the interaction among peers and posts, which facilitates effective knowledge organization by constructing relationships between forum contents and existing knowledge. The framework extracts the learning difficulties and visualized with word clouds in online forum. The research contributes to bridging the gap between teaching materials and students' questions from online forum. The CMF framework is helpful to design the architecture of automatically answer system and real-time feedback within adaptive learning in the future.
