Abstract
Nervous Thrasher 2024, by Samuel Swope, is an innovative and performative installation involving acts of real-time sonification of airborne sculptures. The immediate interconnectedness between the sculptures’ flight dynamics and the amplified auditory compositions creates a cohesive sensory experience that engages multiple facets of perception. Taking inspiration, both technically and artistically, from Nervous Thrasher, this demo showcases an iteration of a helium assisted airborne sculpture and the real-time sonification derived from its flight controller data.
