Abstract

This paper examines the implications of non-human subjects in contemporary art, focusing on robotic art. Contemporary art has escaped the myth of singular authorship, distributing authority power and embracing various creative subjects. In such a context of author discourse, art using AI and robotics can be understood as a collaboration between non-human and human subjects. I attempt a systematic analysis through examples of robotic art referring to the previous studies on the levels of human participation and human-nonhuman collaboration.
