Abstract
Research on the correlation between congenital five evolutive phases and six climatic factors and acquired five evolutive phases and six climatic factors of patients with lung disease.
Objective: To analyze the constitution characteristics of lung diseases patients according to their congenital five evolutive phases and six climatic factors distributions during the periods from pregnancy to 1 year old after boring, and then to investigate the relationship between the congenital and acquired five evolutive phases and six climatic factors during the onset of lung diseases. Methods: A total of 3 511 records of lung diseases (December, 1997 to December, 2007) were collected
from Dongzhimen Hospital, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. The Logistic regression was used to select the essential factor of five evolutive phases and six climatic factors related to lung diseases. Whether suffering from lung diseases was defined as the dependent varible, while the five evolutive phases and six climatic factors during different periods were defined as the independent varible. Results: Individuals who had a conception in Gui year, especially in the 3rd qi, born in Gui or Jia year, as well as the infancy period mainly from Jia year, were susceptible to lung diseases in the 6th qi of a year (e.g. Taiyang Hanshui period), especially in the Water circuits year and Jia year. Conclusion: The characteristics of congenital and acquired five evolutive phases and six climatic factors of studied patients were presented as cold-water (i.e. temperature and humid) climate. The cold temperature could be the major factor influencing lung diseases.
