Abstract
This issue marks the 5th anniversary of the journal, and celebrates by reiterating its mission to provide a platform for advancing Chinese communication research and publishing state-of-the-art research articles. Looking back, it is important to take stock of the important issues that the Journal has covered, with new media events, transborder communication, and the publicness of media serving as some illustrative examples. As the journal moves forward, the editors would like to call on both established communication researchers and young PhD degree holders to contribute even more quality research to the journal in the future, and extend their heartfelt thanks to the board members, authors, reviewers, and professional peers for their help throughout the years.
