Abstract

The images like“Holy Grail,”“shrines,”and“light of god”in Little Reunion together with the pursuance and shaping of the author’s self and subjective image form the semiotic system of the whole novel and the core of the author’s sense of self. This kind of self-imaging and subject-construction can be taken as an at once convoluted and schizophrenic self-engraving narrative in Eileen Chang’s autobiographical novel, manifesting Chang’s construction of her subjective self and her double-writing narrative strategy
