Abstract

In 1887, the Alice Memorial Hospital was founded by the London Missionary Society. Its aim was to promote the advantages of western medicine among the Chinese. The Alice Memorial Hospital Provided western medical treatment for local Chinese. In the same year, the Hong Kong College of Medicine for Chinese was also established with the help of the London Missionary Society. The medical college provided western medicine training. With the help of local leaders in Hong Kong, the London Missionary Society opened three more hospitals and a variety of medical services.
