从目的论看中国功夫题材影视剧的字幕的英译

近年来,在华语影视剧市场愈渐繁荣,中国文化发展和传播愈渐火热的背景下,越来越多的华语电影出口到世界各地以及参加各个国际电影节。而以中国功夫为题材的影视剧又是提高外国观众兴趣、传播中国文化的主力军。因为该类影视剧题材、台词、文本的特殊性,其英译(特别是字幕翻译)的工作量和工作难度都给翻译工作者带来了不少挑战。电影字幕翻译的质量直接决定了电影传播中国文化的效果,但令人遗憾的是,不少中国功夫题材影视剧字幕的英译并不乐观,此类字幕翻译的研究并不全面,本文从理论基础到翻译实践,对该类影视剧的字幕翻译进行了研究,提出翻译策略,以期对中国功夫题材影视剧的字幕翻译有所帮助。

In recent years, with the rapid development of Chinese TV dramas and movies and the spreading of Chinese culture, more and more Chinese movies are exported to other countries and participate in international film festivals. Among them,Chinese TV dramas and movies focussed on Chinese kung fu play an important role in advertizing Chinese culture. Because of the uniqueness of the theme, lines and texts of such movies, the English translation of subtitles is quite challenging for translators.Unfortunately, the English translation of these movies is rather patchy.Therefore,the author hopes to put forward translation strategies based upon theoretical study and the application of the theory in translating TV drama and movie subtitles.
