    Abstract

The“scholarly”writers have become an important specimen of the intellectual class because of the typicality of the humanistic environment, self-sufficiency, and the unique cultivation of their way of thinking. Observation on the writing materials, narrative techniques and aesthetic forms of the typical writers’group can provide speculation and backwash on different discourse spaces, which has also afforded a peep into the current scholar novel system. From the classic novel texts of scholar writers such as David Lodge, Saul Bellow and John Williams, coupled with the author’s own experience of creative writing and research, it is concluded that the space view of scholar novels is mainly reflected in the discourse relationship between academic space and other space, the intertextuality transformation and space flow of novel narration, and so on. This“view of space”and its accompanying historical precipitation, determination of values and recognition of cultural subjects have some enlightenment for exploring the development of academic creative writing.
