Project Details
Description
This project is based on a parent project titled “Indoor Location Analytics System for Exhibition and Convention Industries (ILAS)” funded by the ITC under the ITF funding scheme. While ILAS make use of the users’ smartphone for location tracking for the exhibition and convention industries, this Public Sector Trial Scheme (PSTS) project make use of the newly developed Wi-Fi & BLE tag for locating and tracking of medical equipment and patients. Although the positioning technology and location analytics logic are very similar if not the same as the parent project, there are extra cost and manpower involved to design and develop a Location Analytics System for the trial site, i.e., the Accident and Emergency Department of Tin Shui Wai Hospital.
In brief, here are the project objectives: (1) To track the movement and the location of the medical objects or patients in the A&E area through the Wi-Fi & BLE location-based technologies; (2) To alert staff if unauthorized objects or patients leave A&E; (3) To provide stock take daily report to ensure that the equipment is ready at the designated location; and (4) To analyze the movement data for visualizing the crowd area within the A&E premise.
