Project Details
Description
This research aims to investigate and document the unique acoustic landscapes of the Arctic Circle through immersive field recording. The project will involve the deployment of state-of-the-art recording equipment such as hydrophones (underwater recording), vibration sensors, electro-magnetic sensors, and stereo microphones to capture the subtle nuances and powerful resonances of Arctic sounds. The Arctic Circle, known for its vast icy expanses and diverse ecosystems, provides a rich tapestry of natural sounds that are rarely experienced or understood. The goal is to create a comprehensive sonic archive that reflects the region's ecological diversity and the impact of climate change on its acoustic identity.
