Project Details
Description
This project investigates chronic and severe diseases—including malignancies, diabetes mellitus, and inflammatory bowel disease—by characterizing gut microbial compositional/functional perturbations and their pathophysiological correlations with disease progression. Leveraging multi-omics platforms (high-throughput sequencing, metabolomics, and proteomics), we systematically identify and validate microbiota-regulating bioactive compounds derived from TCM. Mechanistic studies further delineate the molecular pathways and effector targets through which TCM-remodeled gut microbiota exerts disease-modulating effects, thereby bridging traditional pharmacology with contemporary systems biology paradigms.
